| Your security system (alarm panel) is installed for residential or commercial monitoring by running a phone line from the phone company Network Interface (via an RJ31x Jack) To the alarm or security system. In the event of an alarm, (Burglary, hold up, etc), the panel seizes the phone line (Disconnects all other phones from the phone line) and calls the Central Station Monitoring Center. The panel sends data from the panel over the phone line to our alarm receivers. The data is processed and goes into our isolated computer network where the information is giver to a Central Station dispatcher (operator).
The dispatcher will attempt verification on a burglary alarm by calling the premises and asking for a pass code. In the event of an incorrect pass code the dispatcher will notify the the police of a possible duress situation (depending on the procedure requested and/or followed at the central station per instructions given by the resident or business). Dispatchers also send for medical help, fire personnel, service and maintenance personnel and can notify the subscriber's designated people on a call list (responsible parties) upon an alarm signal. |
